Utility News Desk!! Important news for lakhs of pensioners across the country. It is mandatory for pensioners aged 80 years and above to submit the certificate. If it is not deposited on time then the pension may be stopped. Yes, submit the life certificate early and submit it from 1st October instead of 1st November. All pensioners will have to submit life certificate to continue their pension. Life Certificate is a certificate recognized under the IT Act, which has to be submitted to the Pension Department after Aadhar Card and biometric verification. This is the survival certificate of the pensioner, on the basis of which further pension continues. Usually the last date for issuing life certificate is 30th November, unless the date is extended by the government. If the pensioner submits his life certificate even on 1st October 2024, it will remain valid till 30th November 2025 next year.
How to make life certificate online?
Must have a smartphone with 5MP front camera and internet connectivity. The mobile number registered in Aadhaar must be registered with the pension authority. Aadhaar card number or VID is mandatory for online life certificate. Download and install ‘Aadhaar FaceRD’ and ‘Jeevan Pramaan Face App’ from Google Play Store. After authentication scan the face and fill the pension related details. Click your photo from front camera and submit. An SMS will be sent to the mobile number with the link to download the life certificate. Open the link, download the certificate and submit it.
What will happen if life certificate is not submitted?
Please note that if the life certificate is not submitted by the month of November, the pension will be stopped. However, if the life certificate is submitted in the next month, pension payment will resume and all the outstanding amount till then will be paid to the pensioner, but this will be possible only if the life certificate is submitted within 3 years. If the life certificate has not been submitted for 3 years or more then the pension will be started only after the permission of the concerned officer.
