Barley Upma recipe

Ingredients for Barley Upma:
1 cup jowar seeds (soaked), 2.5-3 cups water for cooking, 1 tsp ghee, 3 chopped green chilies, 1/4 tsp asafoetida, 1 curry leaf, 1/2 tsp cumin and mustard seeds, 1/2 chopped green capsicum, 3 tsp chopped roasted peanuts, 2 tsp coriander leaves, 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped tomato, salt to taste, pinch of black pepper, lemon juice
How to make Barley Upma:
First step: To make barley upma, first soak the barley for 6 to 7 hours. After the stipulated time, put the barley in the cooker and boil it. Pressure cook till 8-9 whistles. If it is still not soft, then pressure cook it again with some more water.
Second step: Now turn on the gas and add 2 teaspoons of ghee to it. When the ghee is hot, temper it with cumin seeds, mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves and green chillies. After tempering, add 1 chopped onion. When the onion turns golden, add a capsicum and cook it well. After that, add 1 chopped tomato to it. Cook till it melts completely. When the vegetables are cooked, add roasted peanuts and boiled jowar to it.
Third step: Now add a pinch of black pepper and coriander leaves to it. Finally squeeze lemon juice and add it and mix well. Barley upma is ready. Now enjoy your tasty and healthy dinner.
