Migraine is a neurological disorder that triggers recurring headaches of moderate to high intensity. This pain usually affects one half of the head and can last from 2 hours to more than 2 days. To get relief from this, most people resort to medicines. If you are often troubled by migraine pain and keep searching for some home remedy to get relief from it, then include yoga in your life instead of home remedies. Yes, some yoga asanas can provide relief from migraine pain, one of which is named Setubandhasana.

What is the problem of migraine?
Migraine is a type of neurological disorder in which there is severe pain in one part of the head. This pain can last from 2 hours to more than 2 days. Most people suffering from migraine pain are not able to do their normal activities easily. They have to lie down in a dark room until the migraine pain goes away.

-trouble sleeping

-Tiredness

-nausea and vomiting

-Dizziness and sensitivity to light and sound

Correct way to do Setubandhasana
Setubandhasana stretches the chest, neck and spine while improving blood flow to the brain. To do Setubandhasana, first lie down on your back on the yoga mat and keep your hands by your side. Now lie down on your back and bend both your legs keeping a slight gap. Now hold the ankles of the feet with your hands. Now inhale, exhale and press the stomach inward. Keeping the head and shoulders on the ground, put weight on the legs and lift the waist up. While doing this, the chin will touch the chest. Hold on as much as you can with normal breathing. Then exhale and come back. Practice this asana four to five times.

Benefits of doing Setubandhasana
-Helps reduce stress and depression by calming the mind.

By doing Setubandhasana, proper amount of blood and oxygen circulates in the brain, which reduces migraine pain.

-Strengthens the back, glutes, legs and ankles.

-Also helps in improving digestion.

-By doing Setubandhasana, blood pressure remains controlled and the mind remains calm.
