Modaks are definitely made to offer to Ganpati Bappa on Ganesh Chaturthi. But some other dishes are also offered as prasad. One of these is Satori. Which is very much liked in Maharashtra along with being offered to Lord Ganesha. This is a kind of sweet puri. Khoya is used to make it. So you must also note down its recipe to offer this simple dish to Bappa.
Ingredients for making Satori
Two cups of khoya
A teaspoon of poppy seeds
One teaspoon date powder
1 cup sugar or dates for a healthier option
half cup flour
1/2 cup semolina
Recipe for making Satori
Mix half cup semolina and all purpose flour. Add half cup ghee and a pinch of salt to it. Mix it until the dough becomes sticky with ghee.
Now take milk to knead this dough. Knead the dough and leave it to rest for half an hour.
To make the stuffing, fry the khoya in a frying pan until the khoya starts leaving ghee from the sides. Now take it off the flame and let it cool down.
In the same pan add some ghee and fry poppy seeds, dates powder separately and let it cool.
Grind poppy seeds in a grinder and make powder.
Now prepare the stuffing by mixing sugar, dates powder, poppy seeds powder and dry fruits powder in khoya.
Make small balls from the kneaded dough and fill with the stuffing.
Just roll out thick rotis from these stuffed balls and fry them in a pan by adding desi ghee.
Satori is ready to be offered to God. Keep in mind that Satori should swell while frying. Only then it can be stored for a longer period.
