If your partner has broken trust then teach a lesson in this way

;

Lifestyle News Desk, We fall in love and love just happens. Yet building trust takes a lot of time and effort. It’s even more difficult to build and maintain trust with a romantic partner you’ve just caught red-handed with a lie. Lies keep us spiraling into the worst, negativity and creating rifts that take forever to heal. When we catch our partner lying, our first thoughts are ‘if’ and ‘but’. Trust becomes as fragile as a dream and our world stops. You can cry or remain silent, but the struggle to accept this fact actually gets harder with time. So how should you deal with such a situation and come out of it stronger? If you ever catch your partner lying, here are some positive steps you can take.

1. Approach your partner gently

Once you are ready to confront the person, never approach them in an accusatory tone. Instead of asking why your partner lied to you, tell them how the lie affected you and the relationship. This will encourage your partner to participate in constructive conversations. The blame game will only make your partner defensive.

2. Don’t beat around the bush

Why you confronted your partner to find out the truth makes no sense. Ask them about whatever is troubling your mind and be prepared to hear the truth.

3. Be patient while listening to your partner

Give the other person a chance to explain their side of the story. Listen patiently and try to understand the reason why they felt compelled to lie. Try to find the reason behind the lie so that it can be avoided in future.

4. Don’t despise their lies

When a person lies, it is usually because they are afraid of the conversation that would follow if they had only told the truth. Don’t dismiss any lie as trivial and try to understand where your relationship is lacking and how your partner sees it.

5. Trust your guts before deciding whether to forgive (or not)
