Why is there a feeling lonely in the crowd?
Dr. Sneha Sharma, a psychiatrist of Akash Healthcare and Consultant of the Department of de-addiction, believes that lack of social engagement, self-respect, low self-esteem and unresolved emotional issues give rise to feelings of loneliness. When a person feels that he is unable to understand anyone or his feelings are being ignored, he starts to feel isolated even in the crowd.
Dr. Sneha Sharma says, “It is normal to feel lonely, but if this feeling persists for a long time, it should not be taken lightly. Social engagement and expression of your feelings are important steps towards improving mental health.”
