Chaitra Navratri has special significance for the people of Sanatan Dharma. The festival of Navratri is celebrated for 9 days, during which 9 forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped. According to Vedic almanac, Navratri festival is starting from 30 March 2025 this year. According to religious beliefs, when Maa Durga comes to earth for 9 days, she rides on a special vehicle. The Devi will come on the basis of the first day of Navratri. That is why every year the mother’s ride changes.
At the same time, according to the day Navratri ends, the departure ride of the mother is fixed. This ride gives both auspicious and inauspicious signs, which affects the life of a person throughout the year. Let us know about the relationship between Maa Durga and the relationship between the day.
Arrival ride-
Sunday or Monday- If Navratri starts on Sunday or Monday, Maa Durga comes riding on an elephant. Mother’s arrival on the elephant is a symbol of happiness, prosperity and peace.
Tuesday or Saturday- If Navratri starts on Tuesday or Saturday, Maa Durga comes riding on a horse. Mother’s arrival on a horse indicates the change of power.
Wednesday- If Navratri starts on Wednesday, Maa Durga comes on a boat. The arrival of Maa Durga on the boat is a symbol of good crop and fulfillment of all desires.
Thursday or Friday- If Navratri starts on Thursday or Friday, Maa Durga comes riding on the palanquin. The arrival of the goddess on the palanquin is not considered auspicious.
Departure Travel-
Sunday or Monday- If Navratri ends on Sunday or Monday, Maa Durga goes on buffalo. Mother’s riding on a buffalo indicates illness and sorrow.
Saturday or Tuesday- If Navratri ends on Saturday or Tuesday, Mother Durga goes on a chicken. Goddess Durga going to the chicken is a sign of sorrow and suffering.
Wednesday or Friday- If Navratri ends on Wednesday or Friday, Maa Durga goes on an elephant. Goddess Durga is considered auspicious to ride on an elephant.
Thursday- If Navratri ends on Thursday, Maa Durga rides man, which indicates prosperity.
