Ingredients for making coconut laddus
-8 cups grated fresh coconut
-10 tbsp ghee
-1 cup chopped almonds
-1 cup chopped cashews
-½ cup chopped walnuts
-3-4 tbsp raisins
-1 teaspoon cardamom powder
How to make coconut laddu
To make coconut laddus, first put 2 tablespoons of ghee in a pan and heat it. When the ghee becomes hot, add chopped almonds, cashews, walnuts and raisins and fry them on low flame. When all the dry fruits are roasted, take them out from the pan in a separate plate and keep them aside. After this, again add 2 spoons of ghee in the pan and fry the grated coconut in it on low flame. Fry the coconut until fragrant. When the coconut is roasted well, add 2 cups of jaggery to it and mix well until it melts. When coconut and jaggery mix well, add all the dry fruits and cardamom powder to it and mix everything well again. When you feel that everything is mixed well, turn off the gas and keep the mixture aside to cool. When the mixture cools down, apply a little ghee on your hands and start tying the laddus. Wrap the prepared laddu in grated fresh coconut. Coconut laddus are ready to be offered to Mother Shailputri.
