NExT Exam latest update: Students pursuing bachelor’s degree in various medical pathies including Ayurveda have now been made mandatory to take the National Exit Test to obtain a degree. Only after passing this exam can a student enroll in the national or state register or obtain a license and obtain an AYUSH degree. However, the report of the committee formed by the Ministry of AYUSH to answer the questions raised by the students has been submitted and Union Minister of State for AYUSH Prataprao Jadhav has taken a big decision regarding this.
The Union Minister said that this decision has been taken on the recommendation of the committee constituted to review the concerns of the students in this matter. The special thing is that after the recommendation of the committee, now the National Exit Test (NEXT-NEXT) will be implemented on the students enrolled in the 2021-22 academic session under the NCISM and NCH Act, 2020.

After reviewing the suggestions received from the students, the committee headed by Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, Vice Chancellor, National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, had submitted recommendations to the ministry, on which a decision has now been taken.
Let us tell you that after doing Bachelor’s degree in any medical pathy including Ayurveda, this exam is mandatory for license and enrollment in state or national register after completing one year internship in the last year of graduation or thereafter. Only then students will get AYUSH degree. This is a problem-based exam which includes clinical case scenarios, pictures and videos to evaluate practical skills.
The Union Minister said that those students who have not completed their internship but have qualified the National Exit Test (NEXT) will be eligible for registration in the State or National Registration Board only after completing one year of internship, not before that. In such a situation, it will now be mandatory for the students to pass this exam along with one year of internship.
It is worth noting that the order for the formation of this committee was issued on 12 August 2024 and this committee was asked to submit its report within one month of the order of formation. The committee has submitted its report to the government. After this, it has been decided to implement the NEXT examination for the students from the academic session 2021-22 and onwards.
