Ingredients for making gourd stuffing-
-1 gourd
-1 large onion
-1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
-2 green chillies
-1 teaspoon cumin
-1 pinch asafoetida
-2 dried red chillies
-1 teaspoon turmeric powder
-1 teaspoon garam masala
-1 tablespoon coriander leaves
– salt to taste
Method of making gourd bharta-
To make Lauki Bharta, first wash the gourd thoroughly and peel it. After this, grate the gourd and also finely chop the tomato and onion and keep it aside. Now put the gas on medium flame and heat oil in the pan. When the oil is hot, add cumin seeds, asafoetida and dried chillies. After this, put the ginger-garlic paste prepared earlier in the pan. After this, put onion in the pan and fry it till it becomes golden. After this, put tomato in the pan and cook. After the tomato is cooked, add garam masala, turmeric powder and salt in the pan and add grated gourd in the pan and cook for 5 minutes. After this, garnish the gourd bharta with coriander leaves and serve with roti, puri or paratha.
