If you want to unlock your Aadhaar (UID), you can do this using new VIDs through the UIDAI website or MAidhar app. Once your base (UID) is unlocked, you can use it for verification using UID, UID tokens and VIDs. In addition, individuals can also set transactions alert through their banks.
How to lock the base?
To lock your UID, you must have a 16 -digit VID number, which is a condition for the locking process. If you do not have VID, you can generate VID through SMS Service or UIDAI website.
Lock your base by following these steps
To lock your base using SMS service, send an SMS at 1947: GVID [आपके यूआईडी के अंतिम 4 या 8 अंक]Go to UIDAI’s website (https://resident.uidai.gov.in/aadhaar-lockunlock). Under the “My Aadhaar” tab, choose “Aadhaar lock and unlock services”. Choose the “UID lock” radio button. Enter your UID number, full name and PIN code based on your new details. Enter the safety code. Click “Send OTP” or choose “TOTP” and click “Submit”. Your UID will be successfully locked.
