Many banking tasks have now become easier due to the facilities available in online banking and ATMs. One of these is debit card facility. The customer has to activate the debit card once, after that he can use it till the expiry of the card period.
ATM PIN has to be generated
To activate the debit card, an ATM PIN has to be generated. If you are already using the bank’s ATM card, then you would know how to generate the ATM PIN, but sometimes it happens that we forget the method even while using it and next time we have to face the problem. Does matter. At the same time, new customers do not know its method. State Bank provides its customers the facility to generate debit card PIN in several ways. If you have just taken an SBI debit card, you can activate it by generating a PIN by visiting an ATM. Apart from this, the bank also provides you this facility through SMS and internet banking. You can also take help from customer care. We are telling you all four processes here.
1. How to Generate PIN on SBI ATM (SBI ATM PIN Generation through ATM)
To activate the card from ATM, you just have to go to SBI ATM. The PIN will be from this ATM, after this you can use it in any bank’s ATM.
Step 1: Insert your debit card into the ATM and select the option that says PIN generation.
Step 2: You have to enter the 11 digit account number and click on the confirmation option.
Step 3: You will be asked for your registered mobile number, enter it and confirm.
Step 4: On the screen display you will be informed that your Green PIN has been sent to your registered number. On clicking Confirm you will see a message that your Green PIN generation is successful and you will get the Green PIN on your phone number. You will also be sent an OTP.
Step 5: Now, you have to remove your card from the slot and re-insert it. And choose banking option. Select your language here.
Step 6: Enter the OTP received on your mobile number on the next display.
Step 7: Here you will get the option to change the PIN, choose the Select Transaction option. Now create a four-digit PIN of your choice. After this you will get the message of PIN change on the screen. remember this. This is your ATM PIN. This will be required while using ATM, making card payments or doing online transactions.
2. How to generate PIN through SMS? (Generate SBI ATM PIN via SMS)
You can also generate the Green PIN of your card by sending SMS. You have to message the PIN to 567676. After this an OTP will be sent to your number. This OTP will remain valid for two days. You have to visit any SBI ATM within these two days and follow the steps mentioned above.
3. How to Generate Online Internet Banking/ATM PIN (SBI PIN Online Generate)
You can generate PIN online through Internet Banking. If you are using Internet Banking then the following steps will be useful-
Step 1: Login to your SBI online account.
Step 2: Go to the main menu, you have to select the option of e-Services > ATM Card Services.
Step 3: On this page you have to select ATM PIN generation. Select OTP or User Profile Password.
Step 4: Select the option Using Profile Password and select Association and click on Submit.
Step 5: Select SBI Credit Card and click on Confirm.
Step 6: The ATM PIN generation page will open and you have to enter any two digits to generate a new PIN. Enter the marks and click on submit option.
Step 7: You will receive a two-digit SMS on your mobile number.
Step 8: Now enter the two digits you selected earlier and the two digits you received in the SMS and submit. The option to change your PIN will appear.
Once your PIN is set, you can now activate your debit card by going to e-Services>ATM Card Services>New ATM Card Activation.
4. Call Customer Care (Customer Support to Generate SBI Debit Card PIN)
Step 1: Call SBI toll-free customer care at 1800-1122-11/ 1800-425-3800 or 080-26599990.
Step 2: After following the instructions, select the option ‘ATM and Prepaid Card Services’.
Step 3: Select ‘1’ to create a green pin.
Step 4: You will be asked to enter your debit card number, enter it. You will also need to enter your account number.
Step 5: After verifying your details, you will be sent an SMS with OTP which will be valid for two days, during which you can generate your debit card PIN at any SBI ATM. You have to follow the steps mentioned above.
