People are not adding it to vegetables, but are eating it directly. Taking one or two garlic cloves every morning on an empty stomach gives miraculous benefits. Apart from Patna, there is tremendous demand for it in other cities and even abroad.

Ordinary garlic, which is facing the brunt of inflation, is available in the market at Rs 350 to Rs 450 per kg, but the specialty of Kashmiri garlic makes it expensive. It is being sold at Rs 2400 per kg in Patna grocery, while its highest quality grains can go up to Rs 3000. According to Dinesh Singhi, this garlic comes from Himachal and people do not care about the price for it.
