Tomorrow the festival of Bhai Dooj will be celebrated across the country. This festival of brothers and sisters is celebrated on the third day of Diwali. On this day, sisters apply tilak and feed sweets to their brothers. If you want, you can make soft gulab jamuns in sweets. Anyway, Gulab Jamun is very much liked in sweets. So, let us know how to make Gulab Jamun at home to make this Bhai Dooj special?

Ingredients to make Gulab Jamun:

Instant Gulab Jamun Mix Powder – 1 packet, Sugar – 500 grams, Water 3 cups, Ghee – for frying Gulab Jamun, one cup milk, pinch of turmeric, saffron, cardamom powder.

How to make Gulab Jamun:

Step 1: Put the instant Gulab Jamun mix powder in a vessel and rub it a little with your hands so that any lumps in it are removed. Now take milk in a cup and add saffron and a pinch of turmeric to it and mix. Now knead the dough of Gulab Jamun mixture well with this milk. Rub this until it becomes soft. Now, keep it like this for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Now, we will make the syrup. To make this, put 500 grams of sugar and 300 grams of water in a deep vessel and put it on the gas. Also add cardamom powder and saffron to it. Cook it until the sugar dissolves well. Keep in mind that the syrup should not be boiled too much. Now take the Gulab Jamun mixture in your hands and give it a round shape and keep it in a plate. Keep in mind that the ball should be very small.

Step 3: Now, add ghee in the pan and turn on the gas. When the ghee becomes hot, fry the Gulab Jamun balls in it. You have to fry the balls on medium to low flame only. On high flame, the goli gets cooked from outside but remains raw from inside. Therefore, fry on low flame from both the sides till it turns golden. When all the balls are fried, take them out and keep them in a plate and let them cool.

Fourth Step: In the last step, dip the tablets in lukewarm syrup. If the syrup has cooled down, heat it slightly. Soak Gulab Jaanu in this syrup for 2 hours. After the stipulated time, take out the Gulab Jamun in a serving bowl and enjoy.
