There is importance of making kheer on the evening of Sharad Purnima. On this day, kheer made of rice is kept under the open sky on a moonlit night. It is said that on the day of Sharad Purnima, nectar rains from the sky. Which comes in the kheer kept by you. Eat this kheer first thing in the morning. If you want, mix this kheer with the remaining kheer or feed one spoon of it to all the members of the family. There is a belief of making rice kheer on the day of Sharad Purnima. It is said that rice kheer is very dear to the gods also. Keep this kheer overnight or hang it somewhere in the open sky where the moonlight reaches the kheer pot directly. You can cover the kheer with a net.

The easiest way to make rice kheer

First Step: We are telling you the easiest way to make rice kheer. First of all, take 1 cup of rice and wash it thoroughly and soak it in water for some time. Now put the rice in the cooker and add a little more than 1 cup of water. Switch off the cooker and let it whistle for 2-3 whistles. After the gas goes out, open the cooker and mash the rice lightly.

Second Step: Now add milk to the rice and keep stirring continuously. After the kheer comes to a boil on high flame, slow down the flame. Now keep stirring occasionally and cook the kheer until it mixes well with the rice. If the kheer becomes very thick then add a little more milk in the beginning. When the kheer becomes thick, add sugar to it. Add some ground cardamom and chironji. Soak saffron in 2 spoons of milk and add it to the kheer. You can also add finely chopped cashews and almonds. Tasty rice kheer is ready. You feed it to the guests as a sweet dish.
