Which is this temple?
This mysterious temple of Lord Shiva is located 308 km from Hyderabad and 359 km from Vijayawada in Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh. The name of this temple is Sri Yangati Uma Maheshwar Temple. This temple has been constructed according to Vaishnava traditions. It was built in the 15th century by Harihar Bukka Rai, the king of the Sangam dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire. It reflects the traditions of ancient Pallava, Chola, Chalukya and Vijayanagar rulers.
History of temple
There is also a story about the establishment of this temple. It is said that this Shiva temple was founded by Rishi Agastya. They wanted to build the temple of Lord Venkateswara here, but the thumb of the idol broke during the installation. After which the sage August August worshiped Lord Shiva, after which Lord Shiva appeared and said that this place resembles Kailash, so it is right to build his temple here.
Nandi statue is increasing
All the temples of Lord Shiva have an idol of Nandi, but the idol of Nandi installed here is very special and miraculous, about which not only people but scientists also say that the size of the idol located here increases by one inch every 20 years. Due to which the poles of the temple have to be removed one by one. Along with this, it is said that by the end of Kali Yuga, this statue will be alive in a huge form and the Mahapalaya will come that day, after which the Kali Yuga will end.
Crows do not come in this temple
Shani Dev has no influence in this temple. Crows never appear in the temple. It is said that this has happened due to the curse of sage Agastya. According to the story, when the sage Agastya was doing penance, the crows were harassing him. Enraged, the sage cursed him that he would never be able to come here.
