Indian Railways has made a new change regarding ticket cancellation by giving huge facilities to passengers. Now the railway will not take separate charge on waiting and RAC ticket cancellation. In the new rules issued by the Railways, if any ticket is in waiting or RAC, no additional money will be charged as a service charge. Under the new rule, now the prescribed 60 rupees will be deducted. In such a situation, a charge of Rs 120 will be deducted in the sleeper. So the charge of ₹ 180 will be deducted if the third AC ticket is canceled. The second AC ticket will be charged for Rs 200. 200 and Rs 240 will be deducted on first AC

Railway waiting and RAC used to charge huge service and facility fee for cancellation of tickets or other tickets. In this way the railway used to get revenue of several crores. Therefore, there was loss of passengers. But now the fee has been fixed by the Railways. Sunil Kumar Khandelwal from Giridih, Jharkhand who is a social worker and RTI activist. He filed an RTI and complained of ticket cancellation charge. He had said in his complaint that the railway is earning crores of rupees only from ticket cancellation charge, due to which the passengers are facing a lot of trouble. He told that a ticket of 190 rupees was booked. Which was in waiting but after cancellation, the Railways refunded only Rs 95. The new decision of the railway will help the passengers.
