Utility News Desk!! Let us tell you that Indian Railways is constantly tightening its rules for the convenience of passengers. Railways keeps issuing various guidelines from time to time. According to the news, the railway administration has completely banned traveling in reserved coaches on waiting tickets. That is, if you have a waiting ticket, you will not be able to travel in AC or sleeper coach. Even if you have bought a ticket offline from the station. At present, the Railways has banned traveling in reserved coaches even on such tickets.
Although this decision has been implemented for the convenience of passengers with confirmed tickets, it will cause a lot of trouble to lakhs of passengers traveling on waiting tickets. However, no official announcement has been made by the Railways in this regard yet. The rule of Indian Railways is that if a passenger buys a waiting ticket from the railway station, he can also travel in the reserved coach. If there is a waiting ticket in AC, then one can travel in AC and if there is a waiting ticket in sleeper, then one can travel in sleeper coach on the waiting ticket.
However, tickets bought online are already prohibited, as online tickets are automatically cancelled if pending. Railway officials say that the ban on travelling on waiting tickets is not from today but from the British era, but it was not strictly enforced. The railways have a clear rule that if you have bought a ticket from the window and it is in waiting, then cancel it and get your money back. If this is not done, passengers travel by boarding the coach.
But considering the inconvenience of the passengers, it is not being strictly implemented at present. If a passenger is found travelling in a reserved coach on a waiting ticket, the TTE can impose a fine of Rs 440 on him and can deboard him from the train on the way. He says that apart from this, the TTE also has the right to send passengers to the general coach.
