Most of the people are ignorantly considering Ravana as great. This is because such quotes are shared on social media in which Ravana is described as a god. While the truth is exactly the opposite. Yes, Ravana was an evil and mischievous demon. For this reason, Lord Vishnu himself had to come as Rama to kill him.
According to Ramayana, Mother Sita had lived in Ashok Vatika in Ravana’s captivity for two years. During this time Ravana tried to persuade Mata Sita for marriage several times, but Jagat Janani Mata Sita rejected her proposal every time. In such a situation, Ravana could not find Mother Sita even after wishing and could not even touch her. According to the scriptures, the reason for Ravana not touching Mother Sita was the fear of her own death. Yes, Ravana was cursed that if he would touch a woman against her wish, her head would be cut into a hundred pieces.
Trijata narrated the story to Mother Sita
When Ravana took Mata Sita to Ashoka Vatika, the demons present there used to scare and disturb Sita. There was also a demon named Trijata, who consoled Mata Sita and said that friends do not need to worry. Giving a message of Mahaditya called Avindhya, Trijata told Mother Sita that your lord Rama is efficiently with his brother Lakshmana. He has befriended Vanararaj Sugriva. They will soon come to save you.
Ravana was cursed.
This story is described in Verse 39 of Chapter 26 of Uttarkand of Valmiki Ramayana. According to this story, Trijata had told the story of the curse given to Ravana to Mother Sita. Trijata told that when Ravana saw a nymph named Rambha in heaven, he caught him to complete his lust. Rambha told Ravana not to touch me, I am going to be the daughter -in -law of your half -brother Kubera. For this reason, I am also like your daughter -in -law, but the vicious Ravana did not listen to him and misbehaved with him.
Will not touch any woman.
When Kubera’s son Nalakuber came to know about this, he cursed Ravana that if he would touch a woman against her wish, her head would be divided into a hundred pieces. While narrating this story, Trijata told Mother Sita that she does not need to be afraid of Ravana. Ravana will not be able to touch them even after wishing. Due to this curse, Ravana could not touch Mother Sita even after wishing.
