Children’s health data analyzed
Professor Leonie Segal said that the health data of about 65083 children were analyzed in the study. All of these participants were five to six years old, who had attended primary school. It identified about 3414 high-risk children who had experienced abuse.
Boys need special attention
Professor Leonie Segal said that child protection information was sent to more than three lakh children in Australia in 2021. Of these, 105,000 are being investigated. At the same time, more than 50 thousand children have been victims of exploitation. He said the findings suggest that boys are at a higher risk of developmental lag than girls. That’s why boys need special attention.
