Along with this, it was also tested on cells with different stages of breast cancer. He told that bee venom contains a compound called melittin. We tried its positively charged peptide on cancer cells. We made this peptide synthetically. After this, it was found that this peptide has the power to eliminate cancer, just like the properties present in bee venom.
Also used with chemotherapy
In this study, the venom of 312 bees and bumblebees (insects with dangerous stings like bees) obtained from Australia, Ireland and England was tested. The study found that melittin, which is found in bee venom, can destroy the membrane of cancer cells within 60 minutes. Melittin was able to reduce the chemical messages of cancer cells in just 20 minutes, which are necessary for the growth and cell division of cancer cells. Scientists said that melittin can also be used with small molecules or chemotherapy. This means that when chemotherapy is being done to treat last-stage breast cancer, bee venom can be used along with it. In the study, when the combination of melittin and docetaxel was used in mice suffering from breast cancer, it showed very impressive results.
