Swallowing 5 basil leaves daily with water increases the power of the brain; extracting juice from basil leaves and applying 5-10 mg of it in eyes several times a day cures night blindness. Along with this, for toothache, making a tablet of black pepper and basil leaves and keeping it under the teeth gives relief. Basil leaves can be used by making a decoction or by adding it to tea. Extracting the extract (juice) of basil leaves and mixing it in water and drinking it gives relief from cough; licking a mixture of basil buds, dry ginger, onion juice and honey gives relief in dry cough and asthma of children. Mainly, one can make a decoction of 15 to 20 ml and drink it twice a day.
