It is auspicious to do this work on Ahoi Ashtami
Even on the day of Ahoi Ashtami, women observe Nirjala fast the whole day. Worshiping Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati on this day is considered very auspicious. Along with this, also worship Lord Ganesha and Kartikeya. It is said that by worshiping Shiva family on this day, happiness and peace remains in the house and love also remains between the family members.
On this day, when you worship Ahoi Mata in the evening, include your children also in the worship. Since you are celebrating these festivals for the happiness and peace of your children, by including them, the blessings of Ahoi Mata remain upon them.
Doing charitable work on the day of Ahoi is also considered very auspicious. On this day you can distribute wheat or any grain to the poor. If you are observing Ahoi fast then keep some things in mind. These small mistakes can also break your fast. First of all, wake up early on the day of Ahoi and take bath and prepare well. Wearing black color on this day is considered inauspicious. Apart from this, do not do any work related to soil like digging etc. throughout the day. Avoid fighting with anyone. Doing this may break your fast. Apart from this, use only brass or copper kalash for providing water. Do not use steel kalash or pot at all even by mistake. Apart from this, after breaking the fast, consume only satvik food.
