When the government runs any scheme or asks to update any document etc. In such a situation, a last date is given to complete that work, that is, you have to complete that work again within a fixed time. If you do not do this, there is also a provision to impose a fine on you. In this sequence, if you are a taxpayer and you have not yet filed your income tax return, then know that you have the last chance to do so till December 31, 2024.
You can file your return for assessment year 2024-25 by this date with a late fee of Rs 5,000. It should also be mentioned here that if you do not do this then the amount of fine will increase from Rs 5 thousand to Rs 10 thousand. So if you have not filed your income tax return yet, you can file it by knowing how to do it in the next slides.
Build ITR can be filed like this:-
first step
If you have not yet filed your income tax return (FY 2023-24) then you can file it
For this, first of all you have to go to the e-filing website of the Income Tax Department https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/login.
second step
After visiting the website, if you are not registered then register yourself and if you are registered then login.
For this you have to enter your PAN card number in the user ID column.
Then you have to choose the right ITR form according to your earnings.
third step
Now that you have selected the correct ITR form, you have to select FY 2023-24 and Assessment Year 2024-25.
Then you will have to fill some of your details here
In this, you will have to give all the correct information about your income, deduction i.e. how much money was deducted and tax liability.
fourth step
Then see who owes tax along with interest and penalties
After this you will have to pay this tax
Now you can make payment through net banking or other online means
After payment you have to submit
After this your ITR filing was done successfully.
