Seeing his sister’s love, Yamraj said that whoever takes bath in Yamuna on this date and worships Yama, will not have to suffer the torture of Yamalok after death. It is written in Skanda Purana that by pleasing Yamraj, every wish of the worshiper is fulfilled.
