Japan’s Viral News: Most people in Japan live a long life. It is believed that this happens due to the lifestyle and food habits there. However, these days the strange lifestyle of a Japanese man has become a topic of discussion. A man named Daisuke Hori has been sleeping for only 30 minutes in 24 hours for the last 12 years and is trying to double his lifespan. He is claiming that he has adapted his brain to minimum sleep and this has improved his work efficiency. He is also training other people in this.
The South China Morning Post Report According to , Daisuke Hori, who lives in Hyogo province in western Japan, claims that he has trained his brain and body to function normally with minimal sleep and he never feels tired. Hori is an entrepreneur who is fond of music, painting and mechanical design. He started cutting down on sleep 12 years ago to get more active hours every day. After a lot of efforts, he was successful in limiting his sleep to only 30 to 45 minutes per day.
Daisuke Hori says that if you do sports or drink coffee an hour before eating, you can avoid sleepiness. In 2016, Hori founded the Japan Short Sleepers Training Association, where he runs classes on sleep and health. He says that people who need to concentrate continuously in their work benefit more from good quality sleep than from long sleep. For example, doctors and fire brigade people have less time to rest, but they maintain high efficiency.
Japan’s Yomiuri TV followed Hori for three days in a reality show called Will you go with me? One day, Hori slept for just 26 minutes and woke up full of energy. After breakfast, he went to work and hit the gym. Hori’s online bio says he has trained more than 2,100 students to sleep very little. One of the students told Yomiuri TV that after the training, he reduced his sleep from 8 hours to just 90 minutes and maintained it for four years. His skin and mental health are also in good condition.
What do doctors say about this?
On this matter, doctors say that too little sleep is not good for everyone and it also has side effects. Guo Fei, a neurologist at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, says that adults should sleep for 7 to 9 hours every day. The right duration of sleep is necessary for the recovery and repair of the body and brain. Long-term lack of sleep can increase the risk of memory loss, weak immunity, mental disorders and heart disease. All people should get adequate sleep of 7 to 9 hours daily to stay healthy and fit.
