Dr. Dinesh Rai, Medicinal Incharge Scientist of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, says that Shatavar (Asparagus racemosus) is an important medicinal plant, which can be helpful in solving various health problems. It has been described as useful in increasing mother’s milk, improving digestive system, energy weakness, removing the problem of hair loss and skin diseases. Shatavar powder can be beneficial in digestion, energy, skin and hair problems when used regularly. Still, it is advisable to consult a medical expert before including it in the diet.
