A total of 2.2 lakh tourists visited Kaziranga National Park in Assam during the year 2021-22, which is the highest number during the last 12 years. Official figures confirm this. According to the data, the earning from tourists in Kaziranga National Park has crossed the figure of four crore rupees. The number of foreign tourists visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site had decreased during the last two years due to COVID-19 and related restrictions. According to the data, the number of tourists from the year 2010-11 to the year 2014-15 was from 1 to 1.32 lakhs annually. During the years 2015-16 and 20120-21, this number of annual tourists could not cross the figure of 1.88 lakh. But during the year 2021-22, the number of tourists annually was recorded at 2,20,760, which is the highest. In terms of revenue, the highest earning was Rs 5,60,66,795 in the year 2017-18. The next two years saw a slight decline, though the annual income stood at over Rs 4.80 crore. Revenue fell to Rs 3.54 crore in the year 2020-21. But the revenue earned in 2021-22 stood at Rs 4,46,75,660.
