Love is one of the deepest and sensitive feelings of human life. It is difficult to tie it in a single definition or range, because the meaning of love changes according to the experience and attitude of every person. If someone considers love to be peace of soul, then someone sees it as a feeling of renunciation and dedication. Love is not only the relationship between two persons, but also the bond of parents and children, the belief of brother and sister, confidence of friendship and attachment to humanity. Its biggest feature is that it is beyond the boundaries and is connected to the heart, but the question is that when love is considered so pure and selfless, then why does it need conditions? Often we see that people say – “True love is unconditionally.” This is also true, but in practical life, some expectations and rules are formed to handle relationships. We call them conditions, which sometimes become the strength of love and sometimes its weakness.
Why does love require conditions?
Love is not only a combination of emotions, but it also rests on responsibilities and beliefs. When two people come close to each other, they have some expectations from each other. Such as truth, loyalty, respect and cooperation. These expectations gradually take the form of conditions. For example, if a person expects his partner to be honest with him, it can be called a condition to make love safe. In fact, the root of conditions in love is hidden in the insecurity within the human being. Man is afraid that his partner may not leave him, cheat or be attracted to anyone else. Due to this fear, he starts adding conditions to secure the relationship.
How do conditions affect relationships?
Every relationship rests on balance. If the conditions are limited and rational then they can strengthen love. Like-“We will both tell the truth to each other” or “We will respect each other in the relationship”. Such conditions can make the relationship long and enjoyable. But when the conditions are excessively, they create pressure and stress in the relationship. For example, if a person tells his partner that he will not talk to anyone, will not meet friends, or chase his dreams – then it becomes a mindset of more control and right than love. Such harsh conditions gradually turn love into captivity, where freedom and trust are lost.
True love and balance of expectations
The true nature of love is selfless and independent. But in practical aspects of life, expectations naturally come. Therefore, it is important that the conditions in love are the same, which strengthen the foundation of the relationship and give each other an opportunity to understand each other. Trust, dialogue and respect in a healthy love relationship are the biggest keys. If they are present, there is no need for unnecessary conditions in the relationship. On the other hand, if trust becomes weak, then no matter how many conditions are added, the relationship cannot stand.
