The election dates have finally been announced in the capital Delhi. It has been told by the Election Commission that voting will be held in Delhi on 5th February. The results will come on 8 February. During this, the Election Commission also told what facilities the people of Delhi will get at the polling booth during voting.
The Chief Election Commissioner said that there will be more than 13 thousand polling stations in Delhi. There will be various facilities for the people at these polling stations. He said that voters will get facilities like drinking water, toilets, seating arrangements, wheelchairs and ramps, help desk and voter convenience centre. Apart from this, there will be special facilities for the elderly and disabled.
There are some voters who have been given the facility to vote from home in the Delhi Assembly elections. The Election Commission said that there will be facility to vote from home for voters above 85 years of age and disabled voters. Apart from this, volunteers, wheelchairs and ramps will be constructed at the polling stations for the convenience of elderly and disabled voters. In any case, facilities will be available for such voters.
The tenure of Delhi Assembly is ending on 23 February 2025. In such a situation, out of 70 assembly seats of Delhi, voting is being held in a single phase on 58 general seats and 12 SC seats. 1.55 crore voters will exercise their franchise in this election. Of these, there will be 83.49 lakh men, 71.74 lakh women and 25.89 lakh youth voters. Along with this, 2.08 lakh first time voters will also exercise their franchise in this election. In Delhi, the number of voters above 100 years of age is 830 and the number of transgender voters is 1,261.
