What dishes are prepared on Makar Sankranti?
Khichdi- Urad dal and rice have importance on the day of Makar Sankranti. On this day, people make khichdi by mixing pulses and rice and eat it with ghee. Khichdi is also donated on Sankranti.
Sesame and jaggery laddus- Sesame and jaggery laddus are made in homes on the day of Sankranti. At some places, eating Tilkut also has importance. You can also donate sesame seeds and jaggery on the day of Sankranti.
Rebri, Gajak and Chikki- Rebri and Gajak also have importance on the day of Sankranti. Things made from sesame seeds must be eaten on this day. This results in virtue. You can also eat peanut chikki.
Dahi Chura- There is a trend of eating Dahi Chura especially in Bihar and Jharkhand on the day of Makar Sankranti. Dahi Chuda is eaten with jaggery. It also provides many benefits to the body and tastes very tasty.
