Under the Ujjwala scheme of the central government, the government distributes free LPG cylinders to the poor women of the country. The government started this scheme in the year 2016. Currently, the government is giving subsidy on LPG cylinders. Subsidy on LPG cylinders only gets to the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme. Free LPG connection is available under the Ujjwala scheme, but it is available only in the name of women. The government has distributed about 10 crore LPG connections so far through this scheme.
How many cylinders will be subsidized?
The beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme can get subsidy on 12 LPG cylinders in a year. According to the government, subsidy on LPG cylinders will be given only to the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme. The rest will have to fill the LPG cylinder at the market price. The government provides free LPG connections to (BPL) families below the poverty line. To get subsidy, the beneficiary has to link the Aadhaar number to the LPG connection. Subsidy is available on 14.2 kg LPG cylinder.

Subsidy on LPG can be easily checked online. For this you have to go to Mylpg www.mylpg.in site. The names of three gas companies will be present here. Click on the company you have taken the connection. After this a new page will open. In this, you click on the feedback option. Then a customer page will open. Enter your mobile number and LPG connection number in it. After this you will get all the information related to LPG.
Subsidy will be available by 2025
Recently, the government has announced to increase the subsidy on the Ujjwala scheme for one year. The subsidy on LPG cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme will now continue till 31 March 2025. A subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder is available on 12 LPG cylinders in a year.
