MCD has said that this proposal has been prepared in view of the continuously deteriorating air quality, this will reduce the movement of private vehicles and will also affect pollution to some extent. Similar restrictions and rules are being implemented in Delhi under GRAP-2. At present, parking charges in Delhi range from Rs 20 to Rs 100, which will double if this proposal is approved. That means where you used to pay Rs 20 for an hour, you may have to pay up to Rs 40.

GRAP-3 implemented in Delhi

Let us tell you that in view of pollution, the third phase of GRAP has been implemented in Delhi-NCR. This decision was taken by a sub-committee of the Air Quality Management Commission. After the implementation of the third phase of GRAP, the use of BS3 petrol and BS4 diesel vehicles has been banned. Apart from this, builder projects, road construction and other construction projects have also been completely banned. Group 3 rules apply to all locations, except construction work, only to the most essential locations, including airports, hospitals, elevated roads and STP plant projects.

When does GRAPE apply?

The third phase is implemented when the AQI is between 401 and 450. In this, roads are cleaned daily and water is sprayed regularly. Let us tell you that there are total four stages. The first phase is implemented when the AQI is between 201 and 300. The second tier is implemented when the AQI is between 301 to 400, while the third tier is implemented when the AQI is between 401 to 450. At the same time, in the fourth phase it is implemented when AQI is more than 450.
