During his visit to Japan, the person at whom we stayed in Hiroshima recounted his sad and heart-wrenching recollection of his August 6, 1945 day, saying that he was out of town that day. When he came back after the nuclear explosion, no member of his family was left alive. Those who survived told about the magnitude of the blast that before the explosion there was normal movement in the city. People had either left their offices or were getting ready. Suddenly the earth started to shake due to the explosion and it seemed as if fireballs were falling from the sky. The temperature rose to 4500 °C. Wherever they found their way, they started running in desperation.
The escapees tried to jump into the sea. Thousands of people tried to save their lives by jumping off the shore of the sea, but the water of the sea was also boiling so those who tried to jump, their flesh in the sea, separated from the bones. The city was completely on fire and immediately lakhs of people perished. Just three days later, on August 9, the US dropped the second atomic bomb in Nagasaki. There too thousands of people were absorbed in an instant. This is the result of nuclear war.
This sad statement is because the turmoil between Russia and Ukraine is going to happen in many countries of the world if there is no ceasefire. Even today, both cities of Japan have not been able to recover from that pain of the atomic bomb, because till now the babies born there are born with some or the other deformities arising from the radiation of the atomic bomb.
It is not that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s President Jalensky are not aware of US nuclear explosions and its consequences, but war rhetoric has put a thick veil over the eyes of these two heads of state. It is not understood why Russian President Vladimir Putin in a conversation with French President Emmanuel Micro has said that he will not stop attacks without teaching Ukraine a lesson. As a result of this insistence and cold, Russia captured Europe’s largest nuclear plant in Zaporizhia.
Not only this, by bombing the nuclear plant on fire, he created a sensation all over the world. It is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe with six reactors producing 6,000 MW of electricity. Fortunately the fire was extinguished by Ukrainian firefighters before reaching the main reactors. Had the fire reached the main reactors, a catastrophe was certain, not only in Ukraine, but also in neighboring countries.
Slowly, now it seems that the world is reaching the verge of great destruction. It remains to be seen how India can qualify itself in this examination. Because, in view of India’s neutral policy, America has warned that if India’s condition remains the same, it will soon deal with it. Whereas, India is faithfully adhering to its Russian-India contract which it signed between Russian Foreign Minister Andrey Gromiko and Indian Foreign Minister Sardar Swaran Singh during the 1971 Pakistan War.
In that contract, Soviet Russia had said that attacking India would mean war with Soviet Russia. Then as a result the US naval fleet, which had come from Pakistan’s side for help against India, did not dare to support Pakistan in attacking India.
That American naval fleet had to return to America after showing its back. This friendship religion was maintained by Soviet Russia. It is being said that in view of Russia’s aggressive stance, Ukrainian President Bolodimir Zelensky has left the country and taken refuge in the US Embassy in Poland, while the Ukrainian government has denied it, calling it untrue. The Ministry of External Affairs is fully alert to bring back Indian students and citizens stranded in various cities of Ukraine and on the Poland and Romanian border who had gone there for medical studies and higher education. The Indian government claims that it has sent four of its ministers to Ukraine and is determined to return them.
Around 3,000 students are stranded in Ukraine’s Pesochin, Kharkiv and Sumy cities. It became clear last week that Indian students were being made pawns in the Russia-Ukraine war. India has also expressed anguish over this. Russia called a ceasefire for civilians trapped in two cities. In Moscow, Russia’s defense ministry said it had stopped firing to rescue people trapped in Maripol and Volnovas, but Ukraine denied it had stopped firing. That’s why people are finding it difficult to leave. Indian students from Sumi city have now been expelled after a lot of struggle.
According to a recent report received from Moscow and Kyiv, Russia has destroyed 2203 military bases in Ukraine. Ukraine’s 93 aircraft, helicopters, 778 tanks, 289 top armored vehicles have been destroyed in the attacks so far. The army attacked the Strakostiniv air base with missiles in the past. The military has claimed that Ukrainian officials stationed there after seeing the Zaporgia nuclear plant being taken over by the Russian military partially destroyed documents related to nuclear weapons manufacturing and deleted computer data. While Ukraine claimed to have killed more than 11,000 Russian soldiers, destroyed 300 Russian tanks, more than 40 fighter planes and 48 helicopters.
Actually, this war is between two superpowers Russia-USA, Ukraine is the excuse of both the countries. America has power with Ukraine, including thirty NATO countries, while Russia on its own is doing two hands to America including all NATO countries. The result so far has been that many cities there, including the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, have been destroyed by Russian forces.
If we compare the strategic power of Russia and the US, according to a report by the Russian Defense Ministry, the share of modern weapons in Russia’s army is 71.2%. Russia has 12,950 tanks, which is twice the number of US tanks. Russia has 900,000 active military, while there are over 4,100 aircraft. If we talk about military force and power, Ukraine comes at number 22 in the list of 140 countries. America’s Air Force has 13,27 aircraft in its combat fleet, while Russia has about 4,173 aircraft. It is clear that America is many times more powerful than Russia in airpower, while NATO countries are also engaged in full force in making air mazes against Russia.
It is being told that the exodus from the war-torn region of Ukraine has started and about 1.5 million people have left the country. A huge crowd has gathered at the railway stations. Trains are still operating on safe routes. Due to this, frightened citizens gather at the railway stations, where the trains are being found, they are desperate and directionless, they are running to save their lives. Most of Ukraine’s military bases have been destroyed. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russian attacks will not be stopped without de-arming Ukraine.
