1984 anti-Sikh riot victims expressed their gratitude to PM, 'PM Modi takes our care'

New Delhi, 26 February (IANS). In a case related to the 1984 anti -Sikh riots, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court sentenced Congress leader Sajjan Kumar to life imprisonment on 25 February (Tuesday). The victim’s family is not satisfied on the court’s decision. Family members say that Sajjan Kumar should have been hanged. Expressing gratitude to PM Modi, members of the victim’s family said that he takes care of us. News agency IANS spoke to some victim family members.

Sikh riot victim Atar Kaur said that the Congress party did a lot of bad with us. The honor of multi-daughters was looted. Family member Gurdeep Kaur was killed in front of everyone. Sikh people were selected and killed. We have not received justice. We are getting pension from the Gurudwara Committee. Rahul Gandhi says that he hurts his grandmother’s departure. However, why our pain is not visible. We have not forgotten the riots till now. Sajjan Kumar should have been hanged. The Congress committed a lot of oppression.

Kuldeep Kaur said that we have not liked the court’s decision. This decision is not in our right. We expected Sajjan Kumar be hanged. However, not hanged. Sajjan Kumar was rescued in the Congress government. But, we want to thank PM Modi that Sajjan Kumar was punished only after his government came. PM Modi takes care of us. We will continue to knock on the door of the court until Sajjan Kumar is hanged.

Remembering the riots, another family member Lakshmi Kaur said that two family members were burnt alive. Holi of blood was played for 72 hours. The oppression of the Congress government cannot forget it. After PM Modi’s government, we raised hope that we will get justice. Nobody was listening to us in the Congress government. Forced us to stay on the streets. Food was not found for three days. This is a stain on the Congress that will never wash.

Atma Singh, associated with the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, said that Congress leader Kamal Nath should also be punished. We are sad that our brothers killed us in India. We want those who are guilty should be punished. He said that if PM Modi’s government does not come, then Sajjan Kumar does not get punishment. We have high hopes from PM Modi. For one and a half years, we lived by begging. This happened due to Congress. We did not kill Indira Gandhi, so why my family members were killed.
