Confirming the death of two people from Karnataka in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, the state government has issued helpline numbers on Wednesday as part of efforts to bring tourists back from there.
The tourism department said in a release, “It is sad that two Kannada people were also killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. The government is making efforts to bring back the state tourists from Jammu and Kashmir.”
This has asked the state tour operators and travel agents to share the details of tourists who went to Jammu and Kashmir through them.
Relatives and acquaintances of tourists who went to Jammu and Kashmir have also been asked to share their details through helpline numbers: 080-433443334, 080-43344335, 080-433443336, 080-433443432.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has sent Labor Minister Santosh Lad to Pahalgam to ensure the smooth return of the affected Kannada people. After the attack, a team of officials was sent to Kashmir on Tuesday evening to save the people trapped there.
Sources said that a person named Bharat Bhushan, a resident of Bengaluru, was shot dead by terrorists, while his wife Sujata and a three -year -old son were spared.
He said that another real estate businessman Manjunath Rao, a resident of Shivamoga, was also murdered in Pahalgam in the presence of his wife and son. The bodies of the deceased will be brought back to later the day along with their family members.
