Khanori Border (Punjab), December 13 (IANS). Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait met Jagjit Singh Dallewal on Friday. This meeting took place at Khanori border. After the meeting, Rakesh Tikait said that the government should create an environment for dialogue. We are worried about Dallewal’s health.
Rakesh Tikait while talking to IANS said that we are worried about his health. The government should create an environment for dialogue. Now we will make a new plan to go to Delhi. At present, there is no environment to go to Delhi, a lot of preparation will have to be done to go to Delhi.
Tikait further said that we will plan our meeting. At present, there is no such environment in which farmers can prepare to go to Delhi, for this a lot of preparation will have to be done. We will see how the situation turns out, right now everything is fine and when the time for Haryana comes, then we will tell the future plan.
Actually, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal is on fast unto death at Khanori border regarding the demands of farmers. Due to the fast his health is continuously deteriorating. Meanwhile, on Friday the Supreme Court expressed deep concern over his health. The division bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan said that Dallewal should be given immediate medical care, but he should not be forced to break the fast.
Apart from this, the court gave instructions to the Punjab and Central Government saying that Dallewal’s life is more valuable than the movement. Preventing their health from deteriorating should be your priority.
Justice Surya Kant said that considering the weather, consider stopping the movement or changing the place. Let the committee work and if the problem is not resolved then the protest can be resumed.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and Advocate General of Punjab Gurminder Singh agreed to this proposal of the committee. He assured that he will talk to the farmers and provide all possible medical facilities to Dallewal.
Let us tell you that farmers from Punjab-Haryana (Shambhu) border are once again trying to move towards Delhi. In this movement, the farmers who have been protesting at the Shambhu border for more than eight months since February 13 are now trying to move towards Delhi on foot without tractor-trolley.
