Leader of Opposition (LOP) in the Delhi Legislative Assembly Atishi said on Thursday that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs are being prevented from entering the Delhi Assembly premises after suspending the house for three days.
Atishi said that the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) people crossed the limits of dictatorship as soon as they came to the government.
As soon as the proceedings of the House started on Tuesday, Atishi and other MLAs of AAP from the Chief Minister’s Office. R. Ambedkar’s photo was allegedly opposed. Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta in the newly formed House, Lt. Governor V.K. 21 AAP MLAs were suspended for disrupting Saxena’s address.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Atishi said, “The Aam Aadmi Party MLAs were suspended from the House for three days for raising the slogans of” Jai Bhima “and today” AAP “MLAs are not being allowed to enter the assembly premises. This has never happened in the history of Delhi Assembly. ”
On Tuesday, 21 out of 22 MLAs, including Atishi, were suspended from the House.
The suspension of AAP MLAs took place on the day when the Delhi government presented a report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) on the liquor policy, increasing the political conflict between you and the BJP.
Amanatullah Khan, an MLA from Okhla, was the only AAP MLA from suspension, as he was not present in the House during the protest. The proposal for suspension was presented by Minister Pravesh Verma.
As soon as the Lieutenant Governor started his address, the AAP MLAs started shouting slogans, allegedly removing pictures of Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh from the Chief Minister’s office.
Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta issued an order to get all 21 MLAs out of the House due to disruption.
After the suspension, AAP MLAs demonstrated in the assembly premises by taking pictures of Ambedkar. Atishi targeted the BJP and accused him of trying to erase Ambedkar’s legacy.
He said, “The BJP has shown its true color by removing the picture of Babasaheb Ambedkar. Does he feel that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can replace Babasaheb? ”
