Last night, a stampede -like situation arose at New Delhi railway station. There was so much crowd at the railway station that during the Mahakumbh days, the scene of the stampede turned in front of the eyes, but then why and how did a stampede -like situation arise? After investigation, Delhi Police came to know that five trains Shiv Ganga Express, Freedom Fighter Express, Jammu Rajdhani Express, Lucknow Mail and Magadh Express were running late with their scheduled time.
Due to this, a large number of people gathered on platform number 12 and 13. The crowd was very high, due to which a stampede -like situation arose, but the Indian Railways denied the reason that trains had come on the platform and people were gathering to climb them. The trains have left with their passengers and the crowd is under control. There was no stampede or any such situation. Lessons have been taken from previous accidents and arrangements have been made.
It is also the time of all five trains.
According to the information received from the railway, the departure of the Shiv Ganga Express train was at 8.05 pm, but the train left at 9.20 pm. The freedom fighter express train was scheduled to leave at 9.15 am and had already come on the platform. The Jammu Rajdhani Express train was scheduled to leave at 9.25 am, but it was delayed. The Lucknow Mail Express train was to leave at 10 am, but this train came late. The Magadh Express train was to leave at 9:05 am, but this train was not on any platform till now.
New arrangements made after last accident
The statement issued by the Railways said that there was no stampede at the railway station. On 15 February 2025, a crowd of visitors gathered at Kumbh at New Delhi railway station but stamped, killing 18 people. Taking a lesson from this accident, the Railways made several new arrangements and changes at the station. A temporary holding area has been created towards Ajmeri Gate to control the crowd at the railway station. Different entrances have been set up for the entry of passengers of reserved coaches and general coaches. The deployment and number of RPF and railway employees on the platform has been increased.
