Police action is going on under the policy of crime and zero tolerance towards criminals. The police is not behind in dealing with the notorious. The encounter between Shah Rukh Pathan and the police is part of this link in Muzaffarnagar (now the late) gang. In eight years, 239 criminals have been killed in police encounters. Among them, 81 crooks were killed in Meerut zone. Questions also arose about several cases of police encounter and the police had to face investigation. Many cases are still under investigation.
Opposition parties also tried to surround the government several times regarding police action. Amid allegations and counter-allegations, strict action is being taken against criminals in the state.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave instructions to take action under the campaign against listed mafia and criminals of the state. Since 20 March 2017, 9,467 criminals have also been injured in the action of Special Task Force (STF) and police in various districts. 30,694 criminals were arrested and sent to jail in 14,973 police encounters.
So far, 18 police officers and personnel have been martyred in the fight against miscreants. While 1,711 policemen have been injured. Police also killed three Khalistani militants along with prize miscreants in a police encounter. These include accused of many serious crimes like murder, robbery, robbery and rape.
If we look at the data of police action, then the maximum 4,247 encounters also occurred in Meerut zone. Of these, 2,911 criminals were injured by police firing. While two policemen were martyred and 454 injured by the bullet of miscreants.
