The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is appreciated as “India’s fastest political start-up” by its supporters, now to save the existence after winning the last two elections in the last two elections of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Is facing a big crisis.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday snatched the national capital Delhi from ‘AAP’.
In the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP won 48 out of 70 seats on Saturday, but Arvind Kejriwal -led ‘AAP’ won only 22 seats. With this defeat, ‘AAP’ not only lost his political strength, but also lost his reputation to remain unbeatable in the last decade. ‘AAP’ emerged in Delhi itself, where it wrote the chapter of its success.
Kejriwal lost to New Delhi seat and other party leaders like Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain and Saurabh Bhardwaj also lost.
The party’s governance model focused on free electricity, water and education reforms clearly failed to coordinate with the residents of the city. Along with promising Kejriwal to give monthly allowance to the priests of the temple, their soft Hindutva also did not like the voters.
The party will now be forced to redefine its strategy. It also needs to restore confidence among voters, deal with corruption charges and strengthen its governance model.
There will also be a huge pressure to prove the party by making inroads in other states that victory in Punjab is not a coincidence.
