AIADMK leaders to discuss strategy for protests against deteriorating law and order situation in Tamil Nadu

Chennai, Sep 10 (IANS) The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) will hold a high-level meeting of its senior leaders at the party headquarters on Tuesday to chalk out a strategy for protests against the deteriorating law and order situation in Tamil Nadu.

According to party sources, the AIADMK is planning several agitations across the state. The senior leadership of the party will finalise the strategy and dates for this during the meeting on Tuesday.

AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami recently lashed out at the DMK-led state government over the ‘rising incidents of crimes and frequent murders’ in the state.

On September 8, six murder incidents were reported in the state, following which Palaniswami hit out at Chief Minister MK Stalin, claiming that the CM was busy with a photoshoot in the US and had no concern for the suffering of the people of the state.

Palaniswami on Monday said the deteriorating law and order situation in Tamil Nadu was due to Chief Minister Stalin’s failure to handle the Home Department properly.

Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S. Ramadoss also criticised the ruling DMK over the law and order situation in the state.

In a statement on Monday, the PMK leader said most of the murders were happening under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He demanded the state government to take stringent measures to curb crime.
