All Muslims of the country should tell their opinion to JPC regarding Wakf Amendment Bill: Mohammad Fazlur Rahim

New Delhi, August 31 (IANS). Members of several Muslim organizations met Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah on Saturday. During this, the Waqf Board Amendment Bill 2024 was discussed. Indian Muslim Personal Board General Secretary Mohammad Fazlur Rahim said that the meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was good. He said that the All India Muslim Law Board appeals to all the Muslims of the country to give their suggestions to the JPC regarding this bill.

Mohammad Fazlur Rahim said that the way his party raised its voice against the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 in the House. After which the bill was sent to the JPC for discussion, we thanked CM Siddaramaiah for that. We also told him about many flaws in the bill. We have requested him that it should go before the JPC. JPC has sought suggestions from everyone just two days ago.

Let us tell you that JPC had invited many Muslim organizations to present their views on the bill. It included representatives of All India Sunni Jamiat-e-Ulema- Mumbai, Indian Muslims for Civil Rights- New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board and Rajasthan Muslim Waqf Board.

It has been told by issuing an advertisement by the Lok Sabha Secretariat that any person or organization can send their suggestions to JPC through post, fax and email regarding the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024.

It said that people wishing to give written memoranda or suggestions to the committee can send two copies in English or English to the Joint Secretary (JM), Lok Sabha Secretariat, Room No. 440, Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi-110001. Suggestions can be sent within 15 days from the date of publication of this advertisement. A copy of the ‘Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024’ is uploaded on the Lok Sabha website in English and English. The memoranda or suggestions submitted to the committee will be part of the records of the committee and will be considered ‘confidential’. These will also be considered related to the privileges of the committee.
