Prior to the monsoon session of Parliament, prominent leaders of various political parties participated in the all -party meeting convened by the Central Government on Sunday, which is scheduled to begin on Monday, 21 July.
The session will run till 21 August, there will be no meeting on August 13 and 14 due to the Independence Day celebrations.
The leaders present included Congress MP Ki Suresh and Jairam Ramesh, Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, Union Minister Anupriya Patel, NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule, BJP MP Ravi Kishan and others.
The meeting was also attended by Samajwadi Party (SP), YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), Janata Dal (United), All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Dravid Munnetra Kadgam (DMK).
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP Mahua Maji, who attended the meeting, also expressed concern over the behavior of the central government with his state Jharkhand. He said that despite being rich in minerals, Jharkhand is one of the poorest states in India.
Speaking to ANI, Mahua Maji said, “Jharkhand is a very rich state, it has a lot of minerals but it is one of the three poorest states. Unfortunately, the Center is treating Jharkhand step by half.
The upcoming monsoon session will be the first Parliament session after Operation Sindoor, which India started on 7 May in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 26 people.
This year the budget session of Parliament started on 31 January. Several important bills including the Waqf Amendment Bill were passed in the budget session.
In the upcoming session, the government in the Lok Sabha Manipur Mall and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025, Jan Vishwas (amendment in provisions) Bill, 2025, Indian Institute of Management (Amendment) Bill, 2025, Taxation Law (Amendment) Bill, 2025, Land Honorary Site and Land Activity (Protection and Maintenance) Bill, 2025, Mines and Minerals (Development and Recruitment) Amendment. The 2025, National Sports Administration Bill, 2025, National Anti -Doping (Amendment) Bill, can introduce and pass several Bills including 2025.
The government’s agenda also includes the re -re -division of scheduled tribes in the assembly constituencies of Goa state, 2024, merchant shipping bill, 2024, Indian port Bill, 2025 and Income Tax Bill, 2025.
