Bengaluru, October 2 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Swachh Bharat Mission 10 years ago on October 2, on the special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. On Wednesday, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, this mission completed 10 years. On this occasion, Union Food and Energy Minister Prahlad Joshi has reached Bengaluru. During this, the Union Minister said that it has been decided to clean all the statues of great men across the country.

Speaking to IANS, he said that on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Central Government and the State Government are working together in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, people are cleaning every government office and every place. Cleaning work is going on everywhere even in temples and religious places. He said that under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the focus will be on cleaning the statues and old statues of great men across the country in the next 15 days.

On the question of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah not resigning, the Union Minister said that the top leadership of Congress is on bail. Congress does not have enough power to force Siddaramaiah to resign.

At the same time, on the occasion of completion of 10 years of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the people of the country. On this occasion, he thanked the people for the success of the campaign and said that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has become a mass movement.

Prime Minister Modi said that the President, Vice President, former President and former Vice President have also contributed in the service of cleanliness, which has given a great inspiration to the country. I heartily congratulate and thank the President and the Vice President for this work. Programs related to cleanliness are taking place across the country and people are cleaning their villages, cities, localities and societies. He also said that Chief Ministers of many states and other public representatives have become part of this program and are leading it.

He said that in the last fortnight, crores of people had participated in cleanliness programs across the country. He informed that in the 15 days of this Seva Pakhwada, more than 27 lakh programs were organized across the country, in which more than 28 crore people participated. He said that only by continuous efforts we can make our India clean.
