With the counting of votes for the assembly elections in Delhi on Saturday, the candidates reached the religious places in the national capital and prayed and sought blessings. Counting in 70 assembly seats is going on in the capital amid tight security. From New Delhi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Pravesh Verma reached Hanuman Temple for blessings. He told reporters, “The government will be formed today … After the election, the survey was also indicating the same. I prayed to Hanuman ji for a good government in Delhi so that we can work according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s attitude. ”
The Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Kalkaji, Atishi, described the election as “the fight between good and evil, work and hooliganism”. He expressed confidence that the people of Delhi will support the governance model of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. Devendra Yadav, a candidate from Badli and state unit president of Congress, also expressed confidence of victory. He said, “We worked hard and I am confident that the people of Delhi will give a chance to the Congress.” Congress candidate from Kalkaji Alka Lamba reached Kali temple and took blessings of God.
He said, “I saw Goddess Kali. My sole purpose is to serve people. The party worked very hard and we contested for people and their issues. Whatever decision the people of Delhi will take, we will accept it. ”BJP candidate Anil Sharma from RK Puram visited the Kalkaji temple before the counting of votes started.
He said, “I am 100 percent confident that ‘Kamal’ (BJP’s election symbol) will bloom in Delhi, especially in RK Puram. I sought blessings for this. ”Latika Dixit, daughter of former Chief Minister late Sheila Dixit, hoped for the party’s victory. Latika’s brother Sandeep Dixit has contested from New Delhi seat on a Congress ticket.
Appreciating her brother, Latika said, “He (Sandeep) campaigned in a clean manner, communicated from house to house. Elections should be fought like this. ”Congress candidate from Patparganj Anil Chaudhary also expressed confidence of victory. BJP candidate from Patel Nagar Raj Kumar Anand offered prayers at Hanuman temple in Jhandewalan before the counting of votes started.
