Congress MP KC Venugopal met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and asked Dr. B.R. There has been a demand to resign and apologize to the country for the remarks made on Ambedkar. Congress and opposition parties protested in Parliament on this issue, in which Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also participated.
Speaking to ANI, Congress MP KC Venugopal said, “Our movement is very clear. Amit Shah should resign, he should apologize to the country. When we are asking, are you going to put our leaders and us in jail? If you want, you are welcome.”
He said, “Yesterday Varsha Gaikwad had also filed a complaint but no FIR was lodged. The FIR is only on BJP’s complaint? This has been said after his recent speech in the Rajya Sabha, in which Union Home Minister Amit Shah said If he had taken God’s name so many times instead of Ambedkar, he would have got heaven for seven births.”
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, “The entire nation is watching, they have filed many cases against Rahul Gandhi. They bring new FIRs and lie…this shows their level of frustration.”
Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged against Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, which Congress leaders have termed as an attempt by the Home Minister to divert attention. Jairam Ramesh said that this FIR is not against Rahul Gandhi, but against B.R. Is against Ambedkar.
Congress has planned to protest at district headquarters across the country today against Amit Shah’s statement and the FIR lodged against Rahul Gandhi.
Congress MPs say they will continue to demand an apology and resignation from Amit Shah, even if an FIR is filed against him or he is sent to jail.
Due to this controversy, the winter session of Parliament has been stormy, in which opposition parties have targeted the government over Amit Shah’s remarks. Congress MP and General Secretary KC Venugopal during Rajya Sabha meeting with Dr. B.R. Criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks about Ambedkar.
