Ahmedabad, January 15 (IANS). Union Home Minister Amit Shah is in Gujarat these days. He celebrated Sankranti festival on Tuesday at Shanti Niketan Society located in Ghatlodiya area of Ahmedabad. In Gujarat, Sankranti is called Uttarayan and on this day people consider flying kites to be of special importance. The Union Home Minister also reached Shanti Niketan Society with his wife, where he enjoyed the festival by flying kites. On Wednesday he will participate in several programs in Gujarat.
His first program will be at 10.45 am, in which he will inaugurate the barrage being built at a cost of Rs 200 crore and inaugurate the circuit house being built in Mansa. After this, at 12.30 pm the Prime Minister will interact with the beneficiaries of the schemes and schemes of the Government of Gujarat in Kalol.
At 1 pm, he will offer darshan and worship at the newly constructed Ram Ji temple in Kalol and will offer the musical instruments used in the bhajan material for the temple. At 2.30 pm he will lay the foundation stone of the project to convert Kalol Sanand Road into four lane. Then, at 2.45 pm he will inaugurate the auditorium being built in Kalol. After this, the Railway Under Bridge will be inaugurated at 3.45 pm. His last event will be the inauguration of Bon Bank at Shelby Hospital in Ahmedabad at 4.45 pm.
BJP spokesperson Agresh Dave told IANS that the Union Home Minister had come to Gujarat on Tuesday to participate in the kite festival on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. During this time, he interacted with many people. The MLA and Mayor were also present on this special occasion. During this time, the people here greeted Amit Shah in a wonderful manner and he also enjoyed the kite festival along with the people.
