Ahmedabad, September 21 (IANS). Amul has filed a police complaint in the Tirupati Balaji temple prasad controversy. The complaint has been made to the Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch.
Jayen Mehta, MD of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation said that several types of adulteration was found in ghee at Tirupati Devasthanam in Andhra Pradesh. Some people started spreading false propaganda that the ghee is Amul’s. To stop this, we have lodged an FIR in the Cyber Crime Branch of Ahmedabad, because this matter is very serious for 36 lakh families associated with Amul. We want to tell that Amul has never supplied ghee there and the products of Amul are of good quality, they pass the highest standards and we want to assure this to our crores of consumers.
He further said that a lot of misinformation was being spread through X-Post, after which we have issued a clarification that Amul has never supplied ghee there. We appeal to people to stay away from this misinformation and misinformation.
Earlier, Amul company had clarified its stand by issuing a statement. They have confirmed on social media that they have never supplied ghee to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).
Amul said in a post, “This is in reference to certain social media posts which mentioned that Amul Ghee was being supplied to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). We would like to inform that we have never supplied Amul Ghee to TTD.”
The post further said, “We would also like to clarify that Amul Ghee is made from milk in our state-of-the-art production facilities which are ISO certified. Amul Ghee is made from high quality pure milk fat. The milk received at our dairies undergoes a strict process of testing as prescribed by ‘FSSAI’. Amul Ghee has been India’s most trusted ghee brand for over fifty years and remains an integral part of Indian households. This post is being issued to stop this misinformation campaign against Amul.
