New Delhi, September 4 (IANS). BJP has released its first list of 67 candidates for the Haryana assembly elections. This time the party has fielded Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini from Ladwa assembly seat instead of Karnal. Former Haryana Chief Minister and currently Union Minister Manohar Lal told the media that the party will announce the names of its candidates for the remaining 23 seats in the next one or two days.
Talking to the media after meeting BJP National President J.P. Nadda at the party headquarters, Manohar Lal said that the central leadership has released its first list of 67 candidates for the assembly elections today with the consent of the parliamentary board. The parliamentary board will soon decide on the remaining 23 seats and the party will announce the names of its candidates for these remaining seats in the next one or two days.
In the first list, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will contest from Ladwa and the seats of all the prominent leaders have been decided. The nomination process will start in Haryana from Thursday, September 5, which will continue till September 12.
When asked about the delay in releasing the list of party candidates, Manohar Lal said that there is no rift anywhere in the party. Strategy and date have special importance in politics. Since the nomination process is to start from tomorrow, it was decided to release the list today and under the same strategy the list has been released today. In response to a question, he said that there are assembly elections in both Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and party president J.P. Nadda will campaign in both the states and give full time.
On being asked about the news of Congress giving tickets to wrestlers, he said, “Some of our fellow players were caught in the political circle at that time. Today it is coming to an end. Today those same people are together requesting Congress leaders for tickets and Congress is also saying that it will give tickets. This means that the whole issue at that time (movement) was full of politics. At that time no one could say this so clearly but today everything is clear.”
In response to a question on the news of alliance between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party, he quipped that those who were talking about not forming an alliance and showing their strength alone till yesterday have been exposed. Today we have to form an alliance with not one but two parties. There is going to be a stampede there and BJP is going to form the government for the third time in Haryana.
